What is “.hk” sub-domain name?

Sub-domain name is the domain name being sub-divided from the domain name registered with us. Sometimes, domain name holder may divide the domain name (example: marketing.mycompany.com.hk or mis.mycompany.com.hk) to facilitate their own use.

What is the risk if I rent a sub-domain name?

Please ensure that you understand all the risks for renting a sub-domain name before you decide to go for it. For instance, the sub-domain name will be cancelled if the host of the “.hk” second-level domain name fails to pay annual fee or breaches the Agreement, or fails in the arbitration of domain name dispute, even the sub-domain name user owes nothing to the host. Besides, it may not be easy to change a host server while you use a sub-domain name. A word of caution, we have seen problems for overseas sub-domain name holders when companies have tried to change service and find they are not the actual holder and have no control.
