DNSSEC

What is DNSSEC? Why need it?

The Domain Name System Security Extensions (DNSSEC) is a suite of extension specifications by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) for securing data exchanged in the Domain Name System (DNS) in Internet Protocol (IP) networks. The protocol provides cryptographic authentication of data, authenticated denial of existence, and data integrity, but not availability or confidentiality.

How to sign on the DNSSEC?

If you are using HKDNR’s parking server and DNS hosting service, DNSSEC will be enabled automatically. If your DNS service provider supports DNSSEC, you may get the DS Key from them. Then, follow the steps below to enable DNSSEC:

Step 1: Please log in to your account
Step 2: Click on ‘Manage’ at your selected domain
Step 3: Click to switch on ‘DNSSEC’
Step 4: Input the KeyTag and Digest Value and click “Add”
