HKIRC於2012年8月22日舉行的「2012數碼市場 – 開創網上營商新領域」研討會經已圓滿成功，是次研討會吸引了逾400位與會者參加。在會上，HKIRC公布最新「.hk 網站調查」結果，相比兩年前的同類調查，發現 .hk 網站的使用模式更趨多元化，社交媒體應用漸成大趨勢。然而，網站在流動版本及「無障礙」方面的發展均未見普及。
